This foundational video illustrates the research-based and validated SIOP Model of sheltered instruction. Filmed in a documentary style, this DVD presents each of the SIOP Model’s eight components through footage from the math, science, and social studies classrooms of six exemplary teachers at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. The teachers elaborate on their lessons and SIOP techniques and teacher educators and researchers describe the theory and research that support the model.
