What forms of payment does CAL accept?
The CAL Store offers customers the choice of transmiting orders either via secure or non-secure channels. Here are the options available:
- Order by credit card online
- Order by credit card through Postal Mail (print, complete, and mail in your order with card information)
- Order by credit card using FAX
- Order by purchase order (use the shopping cart to calculate total cost, shipping, and any applicable sales tax, then fax or mail us your signed P.O. afterward)

Do non-profit organizations have to pay tax?
If your billing address is in Washington, DC, the CAL Store online shopping cart will automatically calculate sales tax on your order. Residents of all other states will not be charged sales tax. If you are a tax-exempt institution in D.C. and do not want not to be charged for tax, you will need to place your order by phone or fax accompanied by documentation of your tax-exempt status.
Can I receive a preview/evaluation copy before purchasing?
We're sorry, but CAL does not send out copies of its publications for preview or evaluation. At present we simply cannot dedicate the necessary staff time that would be required to distribute and track down the return or purchase of such copies.
How can I receive my shipment faster (e.g., overnight)?
During checkout, various options are available for you to choose for shipping your order via USPS or UPS. Please refer to our shipping policy page for details.
Do you ship overseas?
Yes. Please refer to our shipping policy page for instructions on how to place international orders.
I've already completed my order, but I want to change it. Can I?
Yes. Please email us at store@cal.org or call us toll-free at 800-551-3709 (M-F, 9am - 5pm ET) to communicate the changes needed. Please try to reach us the same day as your order, if changes need to be made to your order. If you call on the same day you placed your order, we will be able to void the transaction and start over, if necessary. If you reach us the next day, we may need to issue a "return" which incurs a fee to CAL (a situation we'd prefer to avoid!)
Can I use a purchase order at the CAL Store?
Yes. During checkout, select the option to pay by PO (not credit card) when that option is provided to you. On the "Payment Information" page, enter the purchase order number in the "Purchase Order Number" box. After you've finished checking out, we will receive your order via email, but will not ship the order until we've received a signed purchase order from your organization. The purchase order should be signed and faxed to: 888-700-3629 (toll-free). It would also be helpful if you sent an email to store@cal.org to let us know that you have faxed the purchase order.
Will the shopping cart remember me when I want to shop online at CAL again?
Yes, if you "Sign in" during your visit to the CAL Store or during checkout. The next time you return to purchase something from CAL's online store, your previous billing and shipping addresses will be saved and made available for you, so you won't have to type it in again.

What is your policy on returning items?

How can I get my downloadable product?
After you completed your transaction, you should have received a download link to download your product. If you did not receive this link, please e-mail store@cal.org. Your downloaded product is likely a PDF document. To open this document you'll need to have installed on your computer the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. This can be downloaded from the Adobe website.
